Platform Masters development (Jun 21, 2009) – overworld hill troubles


The overworld in Platform Masters is used to get between worlds, replay story scenes and levels, and a few others. Trouble is, I can’t seem to make up my mind on how I want the hills for the texture arranged. Forming the boundaries of the land, doing the waves for the ocean, and adding in the rock/snow distinction are the easy parts. 6 hours for the hills alone seems a bit out there. Things like the decals (the bridge, city, lake, etc. mentioned) should be much easier (I hope). When I get done with the overworld, I intend on making a simulation screenshot then making a video of this as well. Progress is still going along, but it’s very slow and only with the graphical elements.
